Drawing Prompts and Challenges - November 2021
Drawing Prompts and Challenges - November 2021
November has arrived, and here in Scotland, it brought with it the chill of winter, but also hot chocolate and an excuse to turn on the fireplace and get cosy.
So, as mother nature does her dance with snow and rain outside, what better time is there to stay indoors with our art supplies and possibly a hot spiced drink?

September Art Challenge
Create one or more art pieces of any kind. You can use any digital software like Procreate or Photoshop or any traditional medium you can think of.
You can email me or tag me on social media with your submission for a chance to win some goodies. Make sure to add the hashtag #serenaartchallenge so I can see your post.
Optional Challenge Theme:
This month challenge theme is drawing characters. Use the prompts above to make up the character's description and draw what you come up with.
And don't forget to tag me on socials. I would love to see what you make.
Art Block Busting Tip of the Month
Perhaps it doesn't look like it from the outside, but making art can be intense and tiring. Your body might be stationary, but your brain can be engaged in an Olympic level workout in problem solving.
If all this strain feels like a bit too much, sometimes it can be helpful to allow yourself not to try so hard.
Grab a piece of scrap paper and just doodle, let the line flow, see where it takes you, and fill the page with anything that comes. It doesn't have to be pretty or make any sense. It should feel effortless and right at the moment.
This exercise is especially helpful when you feel under pressure, and some people even find it meditative and deeply therapeutic.
The best part? It only takes a few minutes, so give it a go the next time you feel stuck with a blank canvas.
